EducationDr. Fabian Thompson earned his medical degree from the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he developed a strong foundation in the neurobiological and psychological mechanisms underlying mental illness. He has cultivated broad expertise in the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric conditions across the lifespan, with particular interests in psychopharmacology and in integrating multiple psychotherapy modalities to provide individualized, evidence-based care.
Dr. Thompson has been recognized for his professionalism, clinical judgment, and commitment to compassionate, patient-centered treatment, and he has gained extensive experience across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and consultation-liaison services throughout his training.
He is currently completing his fourth year of adult psychiatry residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
AreaS of ExpertiseDr. Thompson's clinical experience includes working with adults, adolescents, and children facing mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related concerns, and difficulties with emotional regulation and interpersonal relationships.
