Education

Dr. Padda attended Swarthmore College, where he graduated with Sigma Xi Honors. He received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine with Cum Laude Honors. He completed psychiatry residency training at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine and fellowship training in Consultation-Liaison (CL) Psychiatry at New York University Grossman School of Medicine.

After completing his fellowship training, Dr. Padda served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine and now maintains a faculty position at the University of Washington Medical Center. He remains closely involved in educating the next generation of psychiatrists at various levels of training, having earned a teaching award for his efforts.

Dr. Padda provides comprehensive mental health care through both psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. He treats numerous mental health concerns, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, OCD, ADHD, and relationship issues. Known for his empathetic and warm approach, he partners with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans that promote healing and enhance overall well-being.

Beyond general psychiatry, Dr. Padda specializes in treating mental health conditions in the setting of medical illness, including cancer, autoimmune disease, heart disease, lung disease, gastrointestinal disease, neurological disease, Long Covid, peripartum care, physical injuries, and more. He brings an understanding of the complex interplay between medical illness, prescribed medical treatments, and mental health. 

Additionally, he specializes in athlete mental health and performance optimization, serving both competitive athletes and professionals seeking to enhance their performance. Through evidence-based techniques, he helps clients build confidence, sharpen focus, develop resilience, and rediscover enjoyment on the field or in the workplace.
