EducationDr. Sejal Patel is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who completed medical school and general psychiatry residency at the University of California in San Diego (UCSD). She subsequently pursued fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at NYU Langone Medical Center, where she was elected Chief Fellow in her second year.
AreaS of ExpertiseDr. Patel has extensive experience treating a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions across the lifespan, with special interests in attention, mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders. She values psychotherapy as a vital component of treatment and integrates elements of psychodynamic and structured therapeutic principles into her clinical approach. Dr. Patel is dedicated to providing compassionate, thoughtful care tailored to each individual and strives to create a supportive environment wherein patients can work toward meaningful and lasting change. Prior to transitioning into medicine, she was a high school teacher and witnessed the mental health challenges faced by her students firsthand. In addition to her role at Continuum, Dr. Patel is a faculty member at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospitals.
